The Armor of God

armor-of-God

11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Ephesians 6:11-18

I read this and I just get so pumped to know that God has given us the tools to stand against anything that comes in front of us.

Put on the full armor of God

That can withstand anything that comes to attack us. Think of it as your personal force field that protects you from anything that wants to trespass you. Cool, huh?

Stand firm

So that nothing moves us to doubt of the power of God. Let’s stand and make a firm statement of who is that goes before us to fight our battles. We are not alone. We have God’s Angels army behind us. Awesome!

With the belt of truth

So that all that comes from our mouths is according to God’s word. That nothing from human thought is put there, but the perfect and powerful truth from the Lord of Lords, Your God!

With the breastplate of righteousness

So we may not trust our insticts or our heart to act accordingly, but the justice of the Almighty God in us. Let us trust his plan and ways, that may not always be ours. But they are perfect nonetheless.

Your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace

That our actions act in true sync to God’s Word. That our confidence comes from the knowledge of Jesus our Savior.

But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect. 1 Peter 3:15

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1

Take up the shield of faith

Because we believe in Jesus we know that we are taken care of. God provides, protects and is faithful to his loved ones. He is totally there for you always!

Take the helmet of salvation

To protect our mind from thoughts and knowledge that may blind us to the truth that Jesus taught us. That way nothing that is said to us can change our minds to follow Jesus. True knowledge comes from God and this sets us free. With Christ’s mind we can demolish any argument against God.

Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” John 8:31-32

And the sword of the Spirit

The Word of God or the Holy Scriptures is our sword to defend ourselves and the kingdom of God form evil forces. We have all of the answers and leads to be victorious in Jesus. There is no greater weapon than the truth.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

Be alert and always keep on praying

We can never let our guard down because the lord of this world is after us, trying to deceive us, to bound us and to condemn us. We have to trust completely in the power of prayer. Our God is faithful, He listens and gives you victory. Pray is a powerful faith statement where we demonstrate that God CAN DO. HE HAS THE POWER TO DO ANYTHING. But let’s not forget that we have to be in sync with God’s heart to understand his answer.

Pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:17-18

I am personally just so grateful for his Word and for his faithfulness.

I pray that you may reflect  in this passage and get the encouragement and assurance the God is in control of your life and all around it.

There is nothing that can separate us from Him once we know him, because He is our bread and water, our life and breath, our Father and savior.

I LOVE GOD MORE THAN

ANYTHING OR ANYONE!
